VIP Coordinator/Special Needs Ministry
The VIP Coordinator will provide hands on leadership during assigned Weekend services and Mid-week CsKids programming. They will facilitate the assimilation process of all VIP volunteers and placement of children with special needs, in partnership with the ministry Directors. The coordinator will be the Lead Teacher in our VIP Classes and train volunteers in proper practices and techniques that will equip them to provide quality care in a safe and Christ-centered environment.
This person should lead by example and cultivate a positive spirit through the church family. They should represent Christ and His well in the community at large. They should be a team player and follow the biblical model of sacrifice by being willing to put the needs of others in front of their own. In all their actions they should be positive and supportive of the Doctrine, Core Values and Vision of our church.
Who you are:
You will have spent significant time leading in a context of similar size and scope. You will provide your team with leadership, coaching and communication. You are a self-starter, team builder, multi-tasker, problem solver and provide leadership in the area of Special Needs practice and protocol. You function in a calm, collected manner in potentially volatile situations while calming the environment, working well with others. You should have a solid understanding of the basic spiritual, moral, physical, emotional, and cognitive of the children in this group.
What you will do…
Leadership:
- Assimilate, train, and evaluate new volunteers as scheduled.
- Facilitate the placement of children with special needs in our VIP Class or with Buddy
- Track volunteers/children in the VIP Ministry
- Train Volunteers about latest practices or upcoming events/programs
- Recruit new volunteers through personal asks, phone calls and monthly strategies.
- Implement the policies and procedures of the ministry into your area and oversee that the health, safety, and guest services protocol are followed by your volunteers.
- Ensure that your area/team provides an aesthetically pleasing, safe and welcoming environment.
- Oversee the classroom supplies, facility resources and equipment of the VIP Class.
- Successfully develop and nurture relationships with the CsKids Staff, volunteer teams, parents, and the paid staff of the church.
- Provide communication about ministry events, policies, updates, and highlights to volunteers and parents through phone calls, emails, and/or monthly meetings.
- Appreciate volunteers through words of affirmation, gifts, phone calls, emails and written notes.
- Provide encouragement to children through consistent care and individual attention, words of affirmation and written notes.
Experiences you have had:
- Formal education or equivalent experience in special needs.
- Experience in special needs area either vocationally, in ministry, or volunteering.
- Must possess these key spiritual gifts: Leadership, Administration and Teaching.
- Must align with the vision, values, and doctrinal statement of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship.
- Must be a member of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship who supports the vision and values.
- Generates new ideas, gives direction and delegates well to others.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Socially poised and confident, able to speak to small groups, children and parents.
- Takes on multiple challenges and assignments and succeeds.
- Cooperative team member who respects organizational policies and procedures.
