Event Associate Director
The Event Associate Director plays a critical role in ensuring that Cornerstone's outdoor experiences and special events are executed flawlessly, providing inviting, stress-free experiences for guests. This position reports directly to the Event Director and works closely with the ministry Directors to align each event with Cornerstone’s mission and values. The Event Associate Director will be a part of a growing, dynamic team in a thriving, established church located in one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country.
What you will do…
Uphold Cornerstone's Mission and Values
- Ensure that each event reflects and supports the core mission and values of Cornerstone Church, promoting an inclusive, welcoming environment for all guests.
Event Oversight and Execution
- Oversee and execute key outdoor experiences and special events, including:
- Easter Service Celebrations
- Harvest Festival
- Christmas Eve Services
- Mother’s Day and Father’s Day Events
- Additional events as needed throughout the year (i.e. A-series events such as ‘Date Night’)

- Work with various departments and ministry teams to ensure each event is well-planned and executed with attention to detail, ensuring a smooth and memorable experience for all participants.
Volunteer Recruitment and Team Building
- Actively recruit and onboard volunteers throughout the year, with a focus on building a strong, reliable event lead team.
- Connect with potential volunteers via phone calls, emails, or other communication methods to engage them and get them involved in the events team.
- Organize and oversee volunteer coordination, ensuring all roles are filled and volunteers are well-prepared for each event.
Collaborate with Ministry Directors
- Work alongside Connecting Point Ministry Directors to plan and host 3-4 “New Here Nights” each year, ensuring that guests feel welcomed and integrated into the church community.
- Coordinate with ministry leaders to align event themes, messages, and objectives with the church’s overall mission.
Vendor and Staff Communication
- Communicate with and book various vendors required for each event, ensuring that all external services are in place (e.g., catering, audio/visual services, entertainment, decorations).
- Act as the point of contact for all event-related communication with staff, keeping everyone informed on roles, schedules, volunteer needs, and key event details.
- Ensure that all staff members are fully briefed on their responsibilities and expectations for each event.
Event Promotion and Marketing Collaboration
- Work closely with the Event Director to communicate event details with the church’s Creative Arts, Production, and Marketing teams.
- Collaborate with these teams to create promotional materials, social media campaigns, and event communications to drive attendance and engagement.
Event Logistics and Timeline Management
- Oversee the development and adherence to timelines for each event, ensuring all deadlines are met and all necessary preparations are completed on time.
- Ensure that each event follows a structured, efficient timeline from initial planning to post-event evaluation.
Event Budget Management
- Collaborate with the Event Director to manage the budget for each event, ensuring expenses stay within financial parameters.
- Monitor all spending, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective decisions are made throughout the event planning process.
- Provide regular budget updates to the Event Director and ensure that each event is executed within budget, adjusting as necessary while maintaining the event’s quality and impact.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A minimum of one year of experience in event management
- Ability to collaborate effectively with church leadership and staff
- Strong attention to detail skils
- Understanding of church culture and theology
- A minimum of one year of experience in event management
- 2+ years’ experience (volunteer or staff) in a large church setting
Personal Life:
- Model biblical integrity and character in all aspects of life (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9).
- Demonstrate a passion for worship and a heart for leading students in their faith journey.
- Cultivate healthy relationships and model biblical community within the church and personal life.
- Regular Workdays: Monday–Thursday in office
- Attendance at all events a must
- 20 hours per week
- Office environment and set-up for all events.
